Mrs. Clara (Moneymaker) Botkin, 83 wife of Marvin Percy Botkin, of Rt. 5, Staunton, died 2:40 p.m. Sunday (July 5, 1981) in King's Daughters' Hospital where she had been a patient for 10 days. She was born June 17, 1898 in Augusta County, daughter of Risden and Rachel (Bright) Moneymaker. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Irene Fauver and Mrs. Marie Bright, both of Staunton, and Mrs. Betty Jean Aker of Randleman, NC; a sister, Mrs. Vada Phillips of Staunton: Six Grandchildren and Four Great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday in Henry Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Albert J. Schrader. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be David L. Reeves Jr., Henry Lee and Calvin J. Botkin, Cecil Sandridge, R. M. Meadows, Lester S. Fitzgerald, Tom Sheets and Herbert Widener. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
