This Indenture, made the 21st day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four between Lewis Kelmaker and his wife Dolley of the county of Rockbridge and State of Virginia of the one part and Christian Bumgardner and Jacob Bumgardner both of the County of Augusta and state for said of the other part witness that the said Lewis Kelmaker and his wife Dolley for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Christian Bumgardner and Jacob Bumgardner at the sealing and delivering of their presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and sold, alined confirmed and by there presents hath grant, bargained, sold, alined and confirmed unto the said Christian Bumgardner and Jacob Bumgardner their heirs or of signs forever one certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and two acres and a half more or less being part of the plantation that Jacob Probeck now lives on (formerly John Waddles) living and being in the County of Augusta Beverly Manor on the waters of Christian's Creek and bonded as follow eth ~ Beginning at two white oaks and two black oaks in Steele's line thence South 32 degrees West one hundred and fifty four poles to a white oak thence South 15 degrees East 8 poles to Jacob Probeck's conner (formerly John Waddles) and with his line North 80 degrees East to Jacob Probeck's (formerly John Waddles) conner and conner to line that belongs to Bethel Meeting House and with a line of Bethel Meeting House North to a black oak and conner of Bethel Meeting House land on William Mitchell's line and with Mitchell's line and Christian Begzarinas (formerly John Goromouns) North fifty degrees West to the beginning and all houses, buildings, gardens, orchards, meadows, waters and that owner to the same belonging to in any wise appertaining that owner of there said Lewis Kelmaker and Dolley, his wife to have and to hold the said parcel of land with all the appurtenances unto the said Christian Bumgardner and Jacob Bumgardner their heirs or of signs to the ____ and behaveth of there the said Christian Bumgardner and Jacob Bumgardner their heirs or of sign forever, and the said Lewis Kelmaker and Dolley, his wife, for themselves their heirs, executors, and administrators doeth covenant promise and grant to and with the said Christian Bumgardner and Jacob Bumgardner their heirs or of signs that they the said Lewis Kelmaker and Dolley, his wife, and their heirs with forever warrant and defend the said tract or parcel of land with all its appurtenances unto the said Christian Bumgardner and Jacob Bumgardner and their heirs and of signs In witness where of the said Lewis Kelmaker and Dolley, his wife, hath here unto set their hands and seals the day and year above written~

This Indenture of bargains and sale from Lewis Kelmaker and Dolley, his wife to Christian Bumgardner and Jacob Bumgardner was acknowledged by said Kelmaker and wife she having been first privily examiner as the Law directs and ordered to be recorded.
