This Indenture, made the 30th day of August in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty eight between Jacob Moneymaker and Eliza Moneymaker, his wife, of the county of Augusta and State of Virginia of the one part, and Ransom Miller of the County of Rockbridge and state for said of the other witness that the said Jacob Moneymaker and Eliza, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and five dollars lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Ransom Miller the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, and sell unto the said Ransom Miller his heirs and ofsigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Rockbridge and containing by estimation fifteen acres be the same more or less. It being part of the land tract desired to the said Jacob Moneymaker by the last will and testament of Lewis Moneymaker(decd) and adjoining the lands of Henry Lucas and John Guthries and bounded as follows. ~Beginning on Guthries line at a black oak and hickory sapling thence N 73 degrees E 82 poles to a black oak and locust, thence N 16 degrees W 29 poles to a stake in a field thence S 73 degrees W 82 poles and a half to a hickory sapling on Guthries line thence S 24 degrees E 29 poles to the beginning. Together with all and singular the appurtenances there unto belonging or in other wise unpretending. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with it's appurtenances unto the said Ransom Miller his heirs and ofsigns forever, to the only proper use and behalf of him the said Ransom Miller his heirs and ofsigns forever, and the said Jacob Moneymaker and Eliza, his wife, the said Ransom Miller his heirs and ofsigns that the said Jacob Moneymaker and Eliza, his wife, their heirs, executors, and administrators the said tract or parcel of land with all it's appurtenances unto the so Ransom Miller his heirs and ofsigns against the claim or claims of them the said Jacob Moneymaker and Eliza, his wife, and their heirs and of all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming under them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness where of the said Jacob Moneymaker and Eliza Moneymaker, his wife, have here unto set their hands and seals on the day and year first above written~
