John received an inheritance when his father's land was sold. On 26 Aug 1831 John and Sally sold this 32 acres which had belonged to Conrad Slusher to Jacob Price. (Augusta Co, VA Deed Book 74, p. 643). There is a good possibility that he is the John who moved to Ohio and on to Indiana and he will be included as such pending additional proof. Family tradition from descendents of this John state that he was living near Rockbridge Virginia cir 1828. About 1829 he moved to Ohio for a short time and then on to Wayne County, Indiana. This migration route is almost identical to John's brother, George.
